Cravings and Best Friends

Every afternoon I eat one of these. Yum! They've been delicious this year!
Have you ever had one of these from McDonald's? ADDICTED!!!
This is my lunch a lot of these days, from Wendy's, so good!

The heating pad is one my best friends these days
And so is this, the Boppy Pregnancy Wedge Pillow (I highly recommend it)

Great Day!

We had a GREAT day today! There's not much to say-the pictures say it all! We were able to get a coat of paint on Anne Morgan's nursery and then back to Montgomery middle of the afternoon for a little time at the pool. Beasley did pretty well, he doesn't understand why he can't jump in or climb the ladder like he usually does but I think he certainly enjoyed himself nonetheless. Mollie did too!

Before the first dip (you can see it's his right hind leg that's hurt,
he still doesn't like to put it down)

Mollie is so happy she's wet! :)
Such a sweetheart!
Anne Morgan's trip to the pool (7 months preggo today!)
The favorite toy of the day
At last!!!

I'm the big sister!
**I should have taken a picture of the treat I found in the refrigerator at Trey's mom's house. I went to get a bottle of water out and found BROWNIES!! Not just any regular brownies (which I love plain ones too) but these had chunks of chocolate and pecans! YUM!!

A Mind Game and a Green Light

Beasley and I went for his check-up today to see how he has progressed over the last week. I knew it was going to be a good one. How did I know? Well Sunday evening after I took he and Mollie for their afternoon walk around the block I decided to take his bandage off since it was getting ratty and was going to replace it myself since I knew he was going in on Tuesday morning. He has done so well this week with walking on his foot and did on the aforementioned walk. Once I cut the bandage off he immediately did not want to walk on his foot, he'd rather revert to hopping on the three others. I knew he was fine, he was fine one minute prior and the bandage wasn't there to provide support, it was really meant to keep him from licking his wound so it would finally heal up. I called him into the kitchen to get a treat and he hopped. I laughed hysterically and called Trey into the room. He laughed too. Beasley had no idea that he could walk without the bandage. It really was pretty funny. Once you told him to walk, not hop he would, and would do fine! Now we just need to get his confidence up. It's all a mind game! He has been playing us for a while now, thank goodness I took the bandage off at home so the vet didn't end up doing more x-rays and tests to see why he couldn't walk when it came off!

Beasley got the green light to go swimming! I am so excited because I am off tomorrow and planned on going to Auburn in the morning to paint the nursery (a new color this time) and be back for the afteroon by the pool. Now the dogs can come with me!! They LOVE to swim. He still cannot jump in, I'll have to lead him in on the steps but this is progress. We have to keep his foot covered when he's not swimming though so it can heal. He's not released 100% yet. We still can't let him go to the lake or run around like a fool but he can go on a longer walk as long as he feels like it and he can swim in the pool. We don't have to go back to the vet unless something happens and we feel like he needs to. There is still a chance that he will need to have the plate removed but we are going to see how he does for a while and see if his confidence comes back. You have no idea how relieved I am!!!!!!!! I will take some pictures tomorrow and share them with you. I am looking forward to tomorrow like you can only imagine.

Never Say Never

Well I just got home from doing something I thought I'd never do- I painted the nursery PINK! I've never really been a pink person but I find myself being drawn to it more and more. Originally the nursery was not going to have any pink, it was going to be green and brown. Things have changed. Not a whole lot but pink is definitely incorporated into the room now. It will just be an accent color and apparently now the walls will be pink too! It's really just a very pale background, or it will be. I don't like the color that I painted. It's too purple and I really thought I chose one that didn't have much of a purple undertone. Shows how much experience I have with pink! It needs a second coat (at least) so I am just going to change the color for the next coat. Now I know what the color looks like on the wall as compared to the card so I can compare it to others and see the purple. Not to bore you with my ramblings, here are a few more sneak peeks at things going into the room.

Here is the fabric for the bumper pad.

This is the pendant lamp I want for the room, or one similar. I thought I was going to have to make one but then I saw this and it's exactly what I wanted to make!

And here is the changing table I plan to have my dad make. He can make furniture better than you can buy it anywhere, and for so much less $!!

Several Things

Well, I guess a lot has been going on. First of all...we're moving back to Auburn! We decided that must be where we are supposed to be and the house is still sitting there waiting on us so we're not going to waste any time. I took one load of things yesterday, just some kitchen stuff. I can't really be of much help in my current condition so I figure I'll just take a load here and there of the smaller things I can handle. I plan on taking another load tomorrow. We will probably be in for good in the next couple of weeks. Trey and I are so excited! I'm so excited because now Anne Morgan will get to have her own room.

Speaking of Anne Morgan's room, my mom and I made a good bit of progress yesterday with the bedding. We ordered some fabric and have nailed down what we are going to do. Now I am just having fun digging through some of my old furniture and things here in my parents house that I can use in her room. Once we make some more progress I'll post some pictures.

The next update has to do with Beasley. We've had a few setbacks. He was doing really well for a couple of weeks; we were so amazed at how quickly he was healing. About two weeks ago he starting picking his foot up again and wouldn't put it down. I took him back for a check-up and they put him on some more medication thinking it was an infection but weren't sure if it was just on the surface of the wound or deeper. The next day he started doing better again. This improvement continued for a couple of days and then by the end of last week he started hopping on three legs again, even worse. It looked like we were back to where we started. I took him in yesterday for another check-up after watching him for several days. To make a long story short, after x-rays, wound cultures sent to Auburn , joint fluid samples taken and a lot of expensive medication we still aren't 100% sure what the problem is. They noticed that one of the screws is slightly loose, not much and shouldn't be the cause of the problem but said that Beasley may just be one of those dogs that isn't comfortable until the plate is removed. He is doing SO MUCH better today. It seems like the anti-inflammatory that he is taking really helps and every time he stops it he digresses. Tomorrow we should hear from Auburn what the cytology reports said. Hopefully there isn't an infection where the plate was implanted. If that's the case we are looking at another surgery to flush it out. There is also a chance that we may have to do another surgery in a couple of weeks to remove the plate. The bone is healed and is solid so he would be ok if it came out, we just don't want to have to go through another surgery. I don't want to put him through that again (or myself) nor do we really want that much more expense added. Obviously we will do what we have to to pay for this and take care of this sweet thing, but his bill is running pretty high these days! I sure hope we don't have to go through another surgery. And I hope he is back to 100% by the time Anne Morgan gets here. I am so worn out from all of this and I have completely gotten out of my exercise routine. I can't walk the dogs anymore, well we can go for 10 minute SLOW walks whereas before we walked 3-4 miles a day. I don't like walking by myself without them. Please say a prayer for Beasley, it's so hard to watch him go through this. Normally this is his favorite time of the year filled with a lot of swimming at the lake and in the pool. It would be nice if it's just still sore and the anti-inflammatory is all he needs for now (except for the fact that it is an extremely expensive medicine-we're looking for a less expesive alternative, surely there is one!).

One more thing, I have to brag on Beasley. When I picked him up yesterday the nurse commented on what a sweetheart he is. She said that when she did his x-rays she just picked him up and put him on the table without sedation! They always sedate them to do the x-rays. In fact, she said he is the only big dog she would even consider not sedating! I was so proud of him-not surprised though :) They did have to later sedate him though to take the cultures, etc so he was a little woozy when I picked him up.

Nothing new

Nothing new. I have't posted anything because not much is happening. Just working and trying to be patient. Trey has been working MAJOR OVERTIME, he is so tired and it makes me tired! I am officially 6 1/2 pregnant now and very ready to meet this little one. She sure kicks a lot to make her presence known. I love that though. Sometimes I'll just sit on the couch and stare at my belly to watch for the kicks. I have become really anxious the past week or so. I guess it has to do with the fact that the crib came in and is now set up in our room. (Thanks Mom and Dad! We love it!) I'll post a picture of it later, maybe after the bedding is made. My mom and I are getting together Tuesday to order the fabric for her to make Anne Morgan's bedding. Trey and I have actually been really good about not buying all of the cute little clothes and other precious things we see. But for the things we do have, they are washed and ready. I know, I'm sure I'll wash them again closer to time so they will be really fresh once Anne Morgan gets here but I was just dying to wash and fold the tiny little things! (And that says a lot b/c I hate laundry!!) Not much else is going on, we have scheduled the 4-D ultrasound for May 7th. I am really excited about that! For now- have a great weekend. I'm looking forward to the fact that I have Saturday off and we are going to A-Day!! Yippee!!

Weekend Update

We had a wonderful time at the beach! However, we did not get a single picture!!! We eventually made it to dinner at Baytowne on Saturday night but the four-legged children weren't able to accompany us. Baytowne was packed and they said we would have to take the shuttle since there was no parking so we turned around and dropped them back off at home before we went ourselves. Saturday was a picture perfect day. Trey and I got a little sunburned after our very long walk on the beach. It was so nice! Sunday the sun never really came out but it was fine. Trey played golf and I rode along. We timed our weekend just right. We were on the beach and by the pool the day the sun was out and played golf when it didn't really matter! The dogs had a great time too. They get to go a walk quite a few times throughout the day so they absolutely love that. Sorry there aren't any pictures but we had a wonderful time! And now it is so cold today! Brrrrrrrrrr.......!!!!

Pink with Purple Hearts?

Beasley had to go for a check-up today. He has started limping again and Trey and I got nervous so we took him for a check-up. Well a couple of x-rays later and several medications he should be fine. It's an infection, hopefully just a topical one and not deeper at the site of the plate's implantation. Anyways, they had to bandage it and of all things, it's hot pink with purple hearts!! I laughed so hard when they brought him out. I guess he is sure enough in his manhood that it doesn't bother him!!

We are off to the beach this weekend, we were looking forward to taking the dogs to Baytowne to get some pizza but now that Beasley has a pink and purple bandage he may be too embarassed! haha! We'll let you know how it goes when we get back. Have a good weekend!

Because so many of you have asked-here I am at 24 weeks, AKA 6 months preggo! I can't believe it has already been 6 months. That is crazy!! This is all I have for now, and it is after dinner so I'm "extra full". Trey and I and the dogs are headed to the beach for the weekend so maybe we can get a picture or two. We haven't taken a single one together since, well the past 6 months!!

**yes, I'm huge already!! I can't imagine how big I will be at 9 months! YIKES!! (seriously though we did just get back from a delicious mexican dinner and I am always much bigger after dinner than the rest of the day)
