Anna Rae Moves Away

Our sweet friends from down the street moved away about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately they are still in Auburn and Anna Rae is in AM's class. But they are no longer down the street. AM was so sad the first several days especially. They day they did the big move we had Anna Rae come play with us so her parents could be more productive. The girls had so much fun!

AM's favorite activity...painting.

AR had fun with AM's new camera (and as you'll see Jason enjoyed watching her all of the time.
I think he has a bit of a crush)

These girls are so fun!

AR loved Mollie...they have a lab too so she was used to rolling around with a big dog.

Lunch time!

We miss being able to ride AM's bike and stroller down to her house. The first day the new people moved in AM rode right up the driveway thinking she was going to play. She was sorely disappointed. We're certainly glad they are still nearby though.

Surprise!!

This past weekend we had a surprise birthday party for my mom, Grammie! (We tried to on her birthday weekend 2 weeks ago but she was sick so we postponed). We had so much fun planning everything and surprising her with all of her kids and grandkids at her house for the weekend. Here are some pictures from our fun weekend at the lake.

Grammie and Jason
Love this sweet boy! He is SO CLOSE to crawling now. Any day!
These two peas in a pod had fun for hours chasing this balloon. I swear they ran 3 miles this afteroon playing with the balloon. Great entertainment.

Sophie will be wearing one of two things in these pictures. First, as you see here, she has on one of her mommy's pretty dresses from her childhood. It's blue so it's her Cinderella dress.

Wardrobe change, now it's time for Snow White. Brittny and I both wore this costume my mom made almost 30 years ago! I think it is Sophie's new favorite thing to wear. She didn't want to take it off. And still playing with the balloon.

Right when my brother's family arrived from Nashville, Drake could not wait to play with Jason. He is so precious with him. I think these two are going to have lots of fun together through the years.

My sister in law, Caroline, said that Drake packed 2 bags of books. One for him and one to read to Jason. How precious is that?!!! When we got home from dinner at the mexican restaurant he couldn't wait to read to him. Jason loved it too.

Pop and Anne Morgan playing dominoes.

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Grammie. Sophie and Christopher picked out trick candles, hehe.

Anne Morgan making her daddy proud. She found this fishing pole on the shore and played with it all weekend (with the exception of balloon time). She kept saying, "Let's go catch some!"

Game time again with Pop and Uncle Kyle

The first afternoon, Sophie, Anne Morgan and Christopher upstairs watching a movie and having a snack. Notice AM's make shift table. She apparently had to have one so she put a tray on top of a wicker trash can, silly girl!! They were very into the movie as you can tell.

Christopher built a new truck with Pop that afternoon too. He LOVES building in the shop with Pop.

Silly face!

Pop reading to the boys (minus Christopher). And Hunter is doing his monkey dance for Jason.

I think Sophie and Drake got married a handful of times over the weekend. These two love to dress up and were fixated on having a wedding. They are hilarious!

One final picture of the weekend. Grammie with all of her grandkids (#7 will be here in June!). We had a great time as you can see. There is NEVER a dull moment with this crew. The kids are at such fun ages now and really entertain themselves...along with the adults!

WE LOVE YOU GRAMMIE!
(I forgot to take a picture of the poster we made you of the 60 things we love about you!)

Daddy Daughter Date Night 2012

Last night goes down as absolutely one of the most precious moments ever. Anne Morgan and Daddy had their very first date night. They met up with quite a few other dads and their daughters at Saugahatchee Country Club for pictures and dinner before heading over to the Daddy Daughter Dance. I was so excited all day about this, but at the same time anxious to see how it would go. I didn't know if AM would continue to stay excited or not want to participate. She's 2 1/2. You just never know. Well she LOVED it! And I think it's safe to say Daddy did too.

Ready to head out for pictures and a night of dinner and dancing. She just had to have her sunglasses :)
This was the only point in the night when I could get her to look at the camera and she was just being silly. Love that girl!

better button up that coat b/c it was FREEEEEEZING!!

Most of the group of daddies and daughters (thanks for the invite!)
As you can tell from here on out she was going to have nothing to do with the camera

I wish I had a better picture of her corsage. She loved it (I was afraid she would hate it)

The next pictures (until arriving home) are from Trey's phone so they aren't the best clarity, but I'm so glad he was able to capture the evening. What I wouldn't have given to be a fly on the wall at dinner and at the dance. What happens on this night every year we may never know, but I'm so glad they have this special time together.

Here she is at dinner showing daddy her flowers. :)

 Chicken Fingers please

I'm so glad that they were with a group of friends, particularly her BFF Allie. These two and their daddies sat together for dinner and were apparently inseparable for the rest of the evening. I told Trey you can tell they were with daddies alone b/c us mommies would not have let them have this much fun at dinner. They didn't sit long I don't think. Here they are playing peek-a-boo in the curtains.

Already dancing and they haven't even made it to the dance yet!

And making snow angels on the floor ?!!!!

Finally, they made it to the dance. This was right when they arrived. Apparently they got down to business right from the start.

These two had so much fun that they were THE.VERY.LAST.TWO there! No kidding! Apparently Allie kept asking for "MORE MINUTES!" (I guess they kept telling her, 5 more minutes, etc) Too funny! These girls didn't want to stop.

Still going!

How adorable are they?!

Check out this video of the dads trying to get them to leave. Please notice that the lights come on and they are taking down the decorations and DJ equipment, yet they won't stop..hopping at this point

Keep in mind that bedtime is 8pm, the dance was over at 9pm

And this is what time it was when I noticed them pulling in the driveway

Look at how proud and excited they both are :)

Her awesome t-shirt that she (and Allie) got for being the last ones there.

Though she didn't want to admit it, she was thirsty and worn out. (Daddy was too)

Good night, sweetheart. What a special evening. I can't wait for you and Daddy to get to do this again next year. Daddy knows to be prepared to stay for the entire thing next year (and me too, I was DYING for an update all night long). And also know that it is 90 to nothing the whole time. LOVE IT!

(She took a super long nap today and even fell asleep an hour earlier than usual)

Jason is 6 months!

It is so hard to believe that my baby boy is already 6 months old! He is just the sweetest thing. I know I keep saying that but he truly is. He is just so happy! We went for his 6 month check up on Tuesday. This big boy really IS getting big. He was 19 pounds and 26. 75 inches long. He has certainly jumped up in each of the categories from where he started. If you remember, he was always in the bottom 25% in those categories but now he is 75% for weight, 50% for height and his weight for height is 90%!! I find these numbers so interesting when compared to AM's. She was 18.3 pounds and 27 inches...both of those were 90%. Isn't that so interesting how the percentages differ between boys and girls?

Here is my sweet little man in the waiting room. Poor guy had no idea what was coming
(quite a few shots)

He is really sleeping great and even his naps are starting to be on more a schedule. Luckily the last week or so I've been able to get he and AM to sleep in the afternoon at the same time. This is my time to work out and TRY to get the rest of this weight off.

My happy boy at Grammie's this week so Mommy and Daddy could go the basketball game
(it didn't start until 8 pm so we couldn't take the littles)

I love this boy so much. He is so full of smiles all of the time. He still loves his jumper. He loves to eat...FOOD. (Although I did try to give him green beans for the first time and that was the first time something didn't go over so well) He is still in love with his sister and with Mollie. I think he is really starting to look like AM. I need to take some more pictures of him and then do a comparison post with pictures of each of them at 6 months. We'll see when that happens! (As you've noticed, I'm not the most motivated blogger, hehe)

Love you Jason!

Duck Hunt

I told you a few days ago about tagging along on my first duck hunt. It was so cool to watch nature in action. It's neat to watch the ducks come in, at their expected time, and especially cool to watch Mollie retrieve the ducks. Now Mollie is a couch dog. She sleeps in the bed with us...on the pillows. She won't go in the back yard unless we are out there with her. Yet take her into the woods and she is a natural. She has no hunting training whatsoever. It's just instinct. And I happen to think she is mighty beautiful while doing it.

Arriving at the spot and ready to go! She knows what is coming.

Can you tell she is excited?!

 My main squeeze :)

 Love these two

Then the ducks came flying in. I like this picture for some reason.

 Pretty girl

Got one!
 and another...
 and another...

She is having so much fun! She doesn't look TEN years old, does she?!

She was proud after finding this one

At the end of the hunt, carrying one of her prizes
