4th of July at Lake Martin

We had a wonderful weekend at the lake celebrating Independence Day. The weather was nothing short of FANTASTIC! The sky was beautiful and the humidity was surprisingly low which made it very unusually comfortable. We celebrated Anne Morgan's birthday early with all of my family. My brother and sister and their families were in town for the weekend so we thought we would kick off the celebration a little early.

We started off with a pinata. Not something you typically see at a 1st birthday party but since the guests at this one were a little older we thought it would be fun. I think they enjoyed it, don't you?!

It took quite a bit of swinging to get it open but eventually they were able to get to the candy!

And there was plenty of it! (I didn't realize how much I was buying, this was a first time to buy a pinata. Oh well, we'll have Halloween candy!) Here the kids are showing off their loot. (there is MUCH more that we had to hide)

Then it was time for cupcakes inside...

Yummmmm!
The weekend was full of fun and games. This is a picture from the first sponge fight. Later we added shaving cream to the mix. I joined in that time so I don't have any pictures.

A little hula hooping too

The kids also had a water balloon fight but I don't have anything but video of that.

The evenings were filled with puzzles and building with Lincoln Logs. The boys love when Uncle Trey is around, they always come running to him asking him to help build something. Here is Trey with Hunter and Kyle showing off the house they built. He was so proud.

Grammie made matching outfits for the kids and here she is with Sophie, AM and Drake before we went to Church in the Pines.

After the service there was a puppet show for the little ones. AM LOVED it! We joked that it was like seeing Praise Baby live.

Grammie and Pop with all of the grandkids.

It was a wonderful weekend with family. And a great celebration of our nation's birthday! I hope you had a great weekend too. Now it's time to get ready for Anne Morgan's 2nd birthday party on Sunday. Can you believe that she will be ONE next Tuesday? See you after the party!!
