Never Say Never

Well I just got home from doing something I thought I'd never do- I painted the nursery PINK! I've never really been a pink person but I find myself being drawn to it more and more. Originally the nursery was not going to have any pink, it was going to be green and brown. Things have changed. Not a whole lot but pink is definitely incorporated into the room now. It will just be an accent color and apparently now the walls will be pink too! It's really just a very pale background, or it will be. I don't like the color that I painted. It's too purple and I really thought I chose one that didn't have much of a purple undertone. Shows how much experience I have with pink! It needs a second coat (at least) so I am just going to change the color for the next coat. Now I know what the color looks like on the wall as compared to the card so I can compare it to others and see the purple. Not to bore you with my ramblings, here are a few more sneak peeks at things going into the room.

Here is the fabric for the bumper pad.

This is the pendant lamp I want for the room, or one similar. I thought I was going to have to make one but then I saw this and it's exactly what I wanted to make!

And here is the changing table I plan to have my dad make. He can make furniture better than you can buy it anywhere, and for so much less $!!

Beware of the pink!!! I was never a pink person either, then I had Sophie. I didn't even want her to wear it! (Sorry for those of you who are really girly, I'm not.) It just starts to come out though. I think it will look really good to have some pink in the room the way you are doing it though. Very chic!

I was joking about being beware of the pink. Just for those who don't get it. : )

Love the nursery ideas and the green madison fabric! one of my favorites. Also, I don't know if you read Urban Grace Interiors blog, but she recently did a post about painting her nursery pink. She mentioned a couple of pink colors you may be interested in. http://urbangraceinteriors.typepad.com/the_blog/2009/04/going-nuts.html

I do love pink walls though. good choice.
